Updated Field Trip Form Announced

On Dec. 3, the Transportation and Technology departments are happy to announce the launch of an enhanced online BISD field trip request form. These departments worked hand-in-hand with a few campus test sites to bring some exciting advancements to the District’s form. These changes will assist our staff by providing emailed confirmations pertaining to field trip requests. Notifications will be sent to the originators and/or campus coordinators.

The District believes this upgrade will be a benefit to all users. If you have any suggestions to streamline the field trip process, please email Sheri Nguyen.

Hello: Is Anyone There?

Will We Be Able To Reach You?

If needed during winter weather, Birdville ISD calls staff to inform them of school closings and delays. Please log in and verify the primary phone number listed in Munis Self Service. For winter weather calls, the system will only call one number, so please make sure the appropriate number is listed in Munis. This is also a good time to confirm your email and mobile/cell number. BISD uses each of these as part of its communications with staff.

Attention TEACHERS

Don't Forget

Teachers must transition web files off Schoolwires websites Files/Folders by July 31. This transition is very important to ensure that all staff comply with ADA online content guidelines. Once finished moving all your content to alternative location (U: drive or Google Drive), you will need to notify Michelle DoPorto, District Webmaster, by completing the following Google Form: https://goo.gl/forms/jjtFmK6p2DQiQ8yF2.

Reminder: Your campus website is to house ONLY your overview page. The overview page must include a recent professional appearing photo, name, title, BISD email, phone, conference time, class schedule and tutorial times for upcoming year. This is referred to as the simple “business card model” overview page. Other resources like PDFs, videos, links, etc. are to be stored on a secure platform such as Canvas, Google Classroom, Google Docs, REMIND or similar app and/or a weekly email newsletter. This will alleviate the District’s liability of non-ADA compliant content uploaded onto the websites viewable by the public.

A document with steps on how to create your Overview page can be located at the following: https://www.birdvilleschools.net/createoverviewpagesteps

Sick Leave Bank Open Enrollment Closes Sept. 1

Birdville ISD offers staff the opportunity to participate in a Sick Leave Bank (SLB). With the Sick Leave Bank, if an employee that is a member has an extended illness and has exhausted all leave and vacation days, they may apply to the SLB for up to 30 additional days.  If an employee does not join the SLB, they can’t apply to use this benefit.

If an employee would like to join the Sick Leave Bank, they must complete the form below, read the rules, tear off the top section, and send it inter-office mail to Babs Holly, Benefits Specialist, before Sept. 1.

When an employee joins the Sick Leave Bank, three local leave days are deducted from the employee’s available leave. (This is a one-time contribution to the SLB.)

Not sure if you have joined the bank?  Look for your employee ID number on the Sick Leave Bank List below. If you recently sent Babs an application to join, it has not been processed and added to the list.  There is no need to send another form.
